I got to help out the super talented Nizar, from Nizar Wogan Photography, on another stylized bridal shoot a few days ago. The location was at the Kintai Castle. The Kintai Castle is set up on a hill over looking Iwakuni. It is a beautiful backdrop for photos, however the weather was just as bad as our last stylized shoot.. CRAZY HOT AND HUMID! This time it was in late afternoon. Our model was the ever so stunning Misty. I mean c'mon, look at her.. so gorgeous!
One thing a lot of people don't consider when they do their makeup is how it will look in photos. It is all dependent on the time of day, the weather, the location, and the photographers editing style. What you might think looks supre dramatic in person, may not even show up on film.
For his look I wanted to go with a very natural, almost bare face effect, with lots of lashes and a bold lip. You can see the difference the lighting makes in the photos. She looks gorgeous in her photos, but rather than a brighter red, her lips seem more like a peachier nude.
Here are a few of my favorite shots from this shoot:
Scared of color for your big day? I say go for it! I wore one of the brightest pinks I could find on my wedding day, and in the photos it was more of a subtle pop of color. Don't be frightened away from bold and bright. As long as it is a complimentary color to your skin tone you can't go wrong.
